Dr. Zitzmann’s long medical career has taken him from the classroom, into the operating room, and even on to an aircraft carrier for the U.S. Navy. After receiving his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, he completed his General Surgery training at New York Hospital and received Residency and Fellowship training in Orthopedic Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. After completing his surgical training, Dr. Zitzmann proudly served as a U.S. Navy surgeon on the U.S.S. Lake Champlain. After leaving the military, he opened his own practice in New York, and he served as an Instructor at both Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York Medical College. He remains dedicated to advancing the field of Orthopedic Surgery, and is affiliated with several New York medical societies and orthopedic surgical associations.
