About

Dr. Joseph Mermelstein, board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Dr. Mermelstein went on to earn a Clinical Nutrition Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and subsequently achieved his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey.

He was a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and authored several peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Dr. Mermelstein’s clinical interests include general gastroenterology, colon cancer screenings, gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)/heart burn and peptic ulcer disease.
