About

Dr. Kamat graduated Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa from Brooklyn College SUNY Downstate Medical Center's prestigious BA/MD program. He completed a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Medical Center and an otolaryngology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary-Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery­. There, he received several honors such as the Chief Resident Award, Teaching Award, Research Award and the Turner Award for Residency Excellence. Dr. Kamat then went on to complete a Rhinology and Skull Base fellowship at the world-renowned Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He believes in providing his patients with personalized medical therapy, minimally invasive office procedures including balloon sinuplasty, and safe innovative techniques in sinus surgery that include image guidance technology, micro-instruments, and drug-eluting stents.

Under the guidance of pioneers in the field, Drs. David Kennedy, James Palmer and Bert O'Malley, Dr. Kamat became highly adept in medical and surgical therapies for advanced nasal/sinus disease in both adults and children. He has specialized training in primary and revision sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, allergic fungal sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis related sinus disease. His other areas of expertise include allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, frontal sinus disease, nasal polyps, papillomas and other sinonasal tumors, mucoceles, tear duct blockage, snoring, deviated nasal septum, nasal obstruction, nose bleeds, sinus headaches, smell and taste disorders and laser therapy for hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT).
