Dr. Irene Galperin is a pulmonologist who received her medical degree from Rush University Medical College in Chicago, where she also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, being named chief resident. She then completed a fellowship in pulmonary critical care at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Her background includes serving as a faculty attending physician in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Jacobi Medical Center; the director of pleural disease service and a faculty attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital; and chief of pulmonary medicine at Forest Hills Hospital Long Island Jewish.
Dr. Galperin has published peer-reviewed research in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine and served as core teaching faculty for multiple residency and fellowship programs and has been awarded Teacher of the Year awards in 2014 and 2020.
Dr. Galperin is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and an assistant professor of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra.
