Kira L. Almeida is a clinical nutritionist/dietician and certified diabetes care and education specialist at White Plains Hospital Physician Associates (WPHPA) in New Rochelle and at White Plains Hospital Medical & Wellness in Armonk. Ms. Almeida is responsible for all nutrition counseling referrals by WPHPA's provider network, including primary care, endocrinology, obstetrics, cardiology, nephrology, neurology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology.
She also provides diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy to patients with Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes, and is the quality coordinator for WPHPA's Diabetes Education & Treatment Center.
Ms. Almeida completed her dietetic internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She received her registered dietitian (RD) certification and master's degree in nutrition, foods, and dietetics from New York University, where she graduated with honors.
Prior to joining WPHPA, Ms. Almeida was a clinical nutritionist and diabetes educator at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for 15 years.
