Dr. Lyudmila Shvets-Gabriel specializes in all endocrine disorders, including thyroid abnormalities (thyroid cancer, thyroid nodules, over- and under-active thyroid), pituitary gland disorders; type 1 and type 2 diabetes; PCOS; brittle bone disease/ osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency; calcium abnormalities; obesity; and weight loss.

Dr. Shvets-Gabriel received her medical degree from St. George's University and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, where she received an Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award for the development of a streamlined protocol for electrolyte replacement in critically ill patients being treated in the ICU. She also completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.

She is board certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Shvets-Gabriel offers consultation, diagnosis and treatment options for conditions involving the above conditions and uses new technological advancements to help improve outcomes in patients with diabetes mellitus.

A former associate professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Dr. Shvets-Gabriel is the author of more than a dozen publications and presentations on topics such as hypoglycemia, diabetes and hypothyroidism. She is also fluent in Russian.

Dr. Shvets-Gabriel serves as a member of the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, American Thyroid Association and American College of Physicians.
