Dr. Mark Klion, a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and proud New Yorker, brings more than 25 years of clinical expertise to the Department of Orthopedics at White Plains Hospital. His practice incorporates cutting-edge techniques in knee arthroscopy, covering cartilage repair, regeneration, meniscal transplantation, and ligament reconstruction.

Dr. Klion also possesses extensive proficiency in treating various shoulder injuries, including fractures, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, shoulder stabilization procedures, as well as a focused specialization in the treatment of lower extremity injuries. Embracing a dual role as an avid athlete and physician, he skillfully employs both conservative management and surgical interventions to address a wide spectrum of orthopedic injuries.

Having earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Dr. Klion completed residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, followed by a prestigious one-year fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Chicago.

Beyond his medical achievements, Dr. Klion is a seasoned endurance athlete with accomplishments that include 15 Ironman triathlons, 15 marathons, and numerous ultra-distance running and biking races, such as the Zion 100 Mile Ultra Marathon. He serves as the Medical Director for esteemed events like the New York City Triathlon and Toughman Triathlon, holding a key role on the Medical Advisory Board of USA Triathlon.

In collaboration with world-renowned triathlon coach Troy Jacobson, Dr. Klion co-authored "Triathlon Anatomy," a guide empowering triathletes to optimize strength, power, speed, and endurance while preventing injury. He has lectured nationally and internationally in association with the Balance Body and Kinected Pilates school educating allied healthcare workers on the benefits of Pilates and yoga in the treatment of orthopedic injuries. Together with Dr. James Capozzi, he developed "BodyworksMD," a physician-guided home rehabilitation series. Dr. Klion is also a founding member of TRIARQ Health, an initiative fostering collaboration among patients, physicians, physical therapists, and healthcare professionals to elevate standards in clinical and service excellence through education and research.

In addition to joining White Plains Hospital, Dr. Klion serves as the Director of Orthopedics at SBH Health System, a Level 2 Trauma center in the Bronx, showcasing his commitment to advancing healthcare standards in diverse settings.
