About

Dr. Michael A. Gott is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle including traumatic and sports related injuries as well as arthritic conditions. He focuses on conservative, non-operative treatments for most conditions.

Dr. Gott attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine after graduating from Emory University, where he was on the Dean's List for all four years. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Northshore/Long Island Jewish Hospital System. After being named Chief Resident in his final year of residency, Dr. Gott completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute, where he worked under renowned orthopedic surgeons Dr. James Andrews, Dr. Lyle Cain and Dr. Jeff Dugas.

Dr. Gott has a passion for working with amateur and collegiate athletes. He worked as a team physician for Troy University and the University of Alabama. Dr. Gott is also involved in team coverage for many of the local High Schools.

Dr. Gott has a specialty in treating winter sport related injuries. He has been an active member of the National Ski patrol since 1995, and is currently an orthopedic surgical consultant to the Windham Mount Ski Patrol.

Dr. Gott also has a special expertise in using Biologic modalities including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cell therapy. He has performed scientific research in the area of Biologics and has published several articles on the use of these state of the art treatments on musculoskeletal pathologies
